The role will be at the centre of the operation and will plan and support business processes to drive organic and inorganic growth for the financial services business.

    118 118 Money is a significant financial services business offering personal loans to customers who may find it hard to get credit from their banks, but don’t want to go down the route of a payday loan. Since entering the market in 2013, we’ve made it our business to offer a fair and transparent alternative to these forgotten borrowers.

    Reporting to the Head of Risk and Analytics, the Decision Scientist will join our exceptional Credit Analytics team and will be accountable for delivering robust customer exploratory and predictive analytics that will be embedded in the business across a wide range of customer engagement strategies as well as digital operational productivity.

    Responsibilities

    • Delivery of robust and actionable insights and solutions to business problems by application of statistics and machine learning
    • Be integral to a wide range of exploratory analysis to develop a deep understanding on how customers interact with the brand
    • Responsible for the maintenance, evaluation and evolution of the predictive models and algorithms
    • Setting up and evaluating AB tests to assess the use and integration of the model outputs in each business function
    • Identifying key opportunities where customer analytics can influence and improve the current ways of working
    • Presenting insights both internally within the team as well as to a range of business stakeholders

    Requirements

    • BS, MS or PhD degree in an analytical discipline such as Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or similar and/or experience in the field
    • Extensive demonstrated success with a strong track record for extensive use of data analytics applying statistics and machine learning
    • Deep understanding of key statistical and machine learning techniques including clustering, classification and regression
    • Strong communication skills to deliver meaningful insights from complex analysis to non-technical audience
    • A “do-er” and self-starter who works well in a fast-paced, dynamic, team environment
    • Proactive, results-orientated and organised, able to succeed in a matrix organisation
    • You should be comfortable working within a global company, liaising across different time zones, and have a passion for culture
    • Good scripting and programming skills (eg. T-SQL, Python, SAS, R)
